The Boston Red Sox have called up left-handed Brian Johnson from Triple-A Pawtucket. To create space on the roster of 25 players, the club sent right-hander Ben Taylor to that branch.

Johnson was scheduled to open for the Robins against the Mariners at Fenway Park on Saturday.

Johnson, 26, was credited with his first league title victory on April 18 by allowing four runs before the Blue Jays in five innings of work. In seven starts for Pawtucket this season, he is 2-0 with a 2.82 ERA.

Taylor, 24, made the roster for Opening Day even though he had never pitched above Double-A prior to this season. In 11 appearances for the Red Sox, the right-hander has recorded a 6.59 ERA in 13.2 innings of work.
