Mookie Betts broke the tie with a homer in the eighth inning to give the Boston Red Sox a 2-1 win over the Houston Astros.

Betts hit 12 homers, the most in the team, and third in three games. He opened the inning with a flick before Will Harris (2-2) to the left-back armchairs.

Brian McCann tied the game for Houston in the seventh inning with a home run homer to Drew Pomeranz.

Joe Kelly (3-0) pulled two outs to keep the win. Dominated to Norichika Aoki with line to the anteroom and runners in second and third to end the seventh.

Craig Kimbrel worked the ninth chapter perfectly to reach 19 saves.
