Dustin Pedroia, who played four straight games Tuesday through Friday (the most he’s played consecutively since returning from the DL), is not in the Red Sox lineup Saturday.

Boston and Tampa plays at 6:10 p.m. Boston won 13-6 in 15 innings last night at Tropicana Field and Pedroia had a frustrating game at DH. He went 0-for-9 with two strikeouts and 13 runners left on base.

Christian Vazquez will bat second for the first time in his career. He never hit higher than sixth in the lineup before today.

He’s 6-for-8 with two RBIs and a walk in his career vs. Rays righty starter Alex Cobb.

Chris Young will be the DH.

The right-handed Young has reverse-splits this year. He’s slashing .269/.347/.477/.824 with six homers, nine doubles and 20 RBIs in 147 plate appearances vs. right-handed pitchers.
