Following dominant performances in May, Red Sox’s Craig Kimbrel and Greg Holland of the Rockies have been recognized as the American League and National League’s Monthly Advocates, presented by The Hartford.
The last 31 batters who have faced Kimbrel have gone 30-0 with a ticket and 18 strikeouts. Kimbrel has also retired 62 of the last 67 batters he has faced and has completely dominated the right-handed batters, who have not allowed them any unstoppable this season
Holland won the award for the second consecutive month. In nine appearances for Colorado in May, the veteran allowed just three hits and had eight saves. The only race he allowed in May was a solo homer on May 28 against San Luis.
