By blowing Rays third baseman Evan Longoria in the sixth inning on Saturday, Chris Sale became just the fourth starter in history to add 10 strikeouts or more in seven consecutive starts.

The Red Sox southpaw is one step closer to tying the Major League record, set by Pedro Martinez in 1999 and equalized by Sale in 2015.
The only other two pitchers who have fanned out 10 or more hitters in seven consecutive starts are Randy Johnson and Nolan Ryan.
